"Community Space Connects the Environmental elements."

This is our second week of the class blog. This session was for teachers to learn how to present the blog example and the class work schedule requirements. We are assigned a blog about following a pattern in Portsmouth, an assemblage of materials, and the entanglement of routes. And divided into five groups to work on the Portsmouth city map, with each group focusing on their neighborhood's empty buildings, shopping streets, parks, found materials, and so on.

For starters, I've seen residents of residential areas with beautiful backyards. The maximum number of residents I have seen have a backyard that is a private family zone or private garden berthing space.

Secondly, every community area has a community park. This is the activity zone for everyone playing, walking, and exercising. Actually, I'm very excited about the layout of this area.

Thirdly, one more community area has an urban park. This area has a lot of activities, such as shops and food centers, an entertainment zone, a walking area, a playfield, etc. It’s really another help for their social gathering space. This park "provides interactive community spaces for urban dwellers, enhancing community resilience."

The composition is made from found objects

Observing the surroundings in this area, I have enjoyed it. I have to collect objects such as sticks, leaves, mesh, sticks, full-color straws, etc. The object features represent abstract art, different colors, textures, and connections with the relationship between interiors. In that case, I think the park is the concept of this work inside a garden and is a park to promote interaction. It’s basically that I can try to represent the natural elements using found materials, which are sticks, natural mesh, leaves, etc. Through a park pathway, we can connect the surrounding neighborhood and, besides providing a play area for children and a community space for all, improve social interaction between the people. I just tried to connect the story to all of the words associated with the abstract.

  1. A good post and collection of materials. Can you now start to dig into Jane Bennett's work and think how New Materialism changes the way you think about the representation of interiors?
